Well that's a new one...

I just had a call from Calor Gas. They can't find my house.

I am used to delivery firms not being able to find my house, and that is fair enough if they don't often deliver round here.

But Calor *own my gas tank*. They had a guy here the other day checking it wasn't leaking. They have been delivering here every few months for the past howevermany years, and this is the first time they have lost it.

'It's not on the satnav' he says...

Streetmap nor Multimap has our house marked, mre than four years after we moved in.

When we moved in I used to talk delivery drivers down on the phone, and wave to them out of the windows when they got close enough.

If he was there the other day, and now can't find you, the only explanation is that your house has moved. You should probably check that the dial by your door - the one with the four different coloured blobs of paint on it - is turned the right way.

And "Satnav" is probably the name of his Dark Master.

All the old mystical skills, such as "talking to someone who has been there before" or "reading a map", are rapidly being diluted by the dubious benefits of satnav.
