Disturbing new client trend (Aka: I am Not Your Friend!)

We sent all (well, most of) our clients some lovely pocket diaries - the gimmick was 'we encourage you to buy new technologies only when it actually makes your life easier' or something like that. Plus a bit about backups.

2 calls today to say thanks, which is lovely.

Tragically, it would appear that sending someone a diary makes you their Friend. And when your Friend phones, you know who it is by the voice, right? You don't need to ask 'who is this?' Luckily, the second caller had some other stuff to talk about, so I know who she was. Still have NO idea who the first caller might have been. Except that she's on the list of 45, and she likes her diary. Which is, of course, lovely. Hm.

I get lots of calls like that at work, fortunately if they are internal ones I can find out who they were by looking up the extension they rang from, otherwise it can be very embarrassing the next time you see the person.
