Must plant tulips!

This autumn. Aladdin is a nice variety - I like all those ones that are sort of tall and spiky. Might be nice to have some Black Parrot in the bed by the front window to go with the early aquilegias too.

Also must plant more camassias in the top garden. The ones there have naturalised really nicely, but I need far more of them to really get the meadow effect.

Dartmoor has signs all the way from Yelverton to Plymouth saying 'dogs on leads March-June' which caused us some consternation. No Dartmoor walks till June, I think. And we got rained on, so not a good walk at all.

Then I went to B&Q and found they didn't have the brackets I wanted to make my new rabbit run. Bummer.

Hmm, why the dog ban? Are there sheep on the moor?

Yeah, 'sgotta be lambing, surely.

I like your gardening entries, Bunn! (speaking as a total non-gardener). I know who I'll be coming to for expertise once we have a garden again (well, in many years' time -- as for the foreseeable future, I'll just want a lawn to put the various tents, climbing frames, swings etc on:). - Neuromancer

Well, in a few years Katie will surely be wanting a dog... ;-)

Yes - lambing and also bird nesting. It's annoying for us because Mollydog doesn't really do sheep (too big), but I can see why they do it.

I think it's only down the Yelverton end - ISTR that there have been a number of sheep killings this year round there.

Though really I don't believe that the sort of dog owner who obediently puts their dog on lead in response to a sign is the kind of dog owner who lets their dog repeatedly savage sheep then drives off without telling anyone. Those strike me as 2 different types.
