10/10 for booking my car in for MOT straight away within a couple of days
10/10 for offering me a courtesy car when I mentioned I might have difficulty getting a lift

3/10 for booking the car in for a service when I'd specifically said it had been serviced in Nov and that was only 6,000 miles ago.
0/10 for failing to record the bit about the courtesy car in the appointment book!

But with a bit of luck, saved by:
8/10 for listening when I explained that I didn't want a full service, so much as the mysterious disappearance of oil problem to be sorted out. (this is why the mood is hopeful, I am hoping that this bit will actually happen).

11/10 for thinking outside the box, and not having a spare car available, offering me the garage van instead. Never driven a van before, but it got me home! I felt a right fraud with 'Sponsors of Walkhampton Football Team' emblazoned on my rear window though.

and another 10/10 for simply handing me the key rather than making me complete forms in triplicate and bring my insurance cert with me.

Much taken with this car, which was for sale there. But
a) I can't really afford it, and
b) I suspect it would be a bit cramped for the hounds.

But it's yellow! I love yellow cars...

It is a very nice yellow car, and it seems like it would be a bit of a brute. It really doesn't seem like a dog friendly car.

Probably less of a brute than the Subaru Impreza I used to drive! but the handling might not be so nice, what with being a convertible and all.

Mollydog would very much like a car where she got to sit on the seats: she considers being in the boot to be beneath her dignity. But it would definitely be more cramped than the boot of my current saab: that stretches away into vast plains, which even the Amazing Expanding Mollydog cannot entirely fill.

I've never driven a Subaru, but I've always got the impression that the Impreza was a brute, but not in a very brutish way.

When I've had my mother's dog (whippet border colly cross) in my car she has been a bit of a problem when she's been on the seats and having her in the boot doesn't really work very well as she insists on jumping over onto the back seat. She moves about rather a lot, unless she is secured she ends up in the foot-well or tries to get into the front. She also gets her claws into the seams between the different parts of the seats; this means that a blanket is necessary, but she moves about and moves the blanket about too. I've concluded that walking her without using the car is the best thing to do.

Yes - less of a brute than our old (modded) Impreza. On the other hand, you know a car is supposed to be a bit hot when it's named after a fighter plane. Well, yes, okay the Triumph Spitfire wasn't particularly brutal, but then Triumph never actually made the fighter plane, whereas Saab did.

The thing with Impreza Turbos is that they can make anyone look like a good driver. For the average bloke, there isn't a faster car on the road (if the roads are twisty country roads), because you can take corners faster in an Impreza than you could in say a Porsche 911. Of course the particular model we had was also faster 0-60 than most models of 911.

Really safe cars too. I had a rear tyre blow out at 80mph on the M4. I didn't actually notice until a lorry flashed me from behind - the four wheel drive system is that good. If I'd have had a rear tyre blow out in my S2000 or my MX-5 I would have been very lucky to maintain control.

And they're cheap to buy. Problem is, they ain't cheap to insure. Very few insurance companies would even touch ours. The problem always came when they asked if the car was modified in any way. "Well, apart from the 10% extra bhp, lowered suspension, big exhaust pipe, short-throw gearbox, upgraded brakes and gold wheels you mean?"
