Perl's view of my foster dogs is generally to look at how they can be used politically in her wrangles with other cats. A cat with an enormous lurcher behind her is a cat with serious negotiating power.

That is generally Perl's camera face. She is expressing disapproval that I am messing about with a camera rather than lavishing the attention on her that she considers to be her right.

Goodness, I hope Duke doesn't have the nerve to express the view that Tripe is More Important than Perl. He might get a noseful of claws.

I'm not counting my chickens yet and definitely won't be leaving them unsupervised together - but I'm really pleased with the progress so far. From furious lunging and barking to ignoring in close proximity, in under two weeks, is pretty good going.

I think he's a really bright dog, I'm impressed by how quickly he's picked up all sorts of things.

I have wondered how much I am re-teaching of stuff he already knew - but surely he would not forget things like how to walk up and down stairs? And the learning to sit was a real lightbulb moment thing, I'm sure he didn't know that, he worked it out.

I *think* he's even got the house training down now, though he does have this odd thing where once he's eaten he wants to urinate right next to his bowl. But now I know about what triggers that, it's easy enough to whip him outside as soon as he's finished eating.
