Orodreth in Nargothrond again. ETA: With New Knees!

I edited him to move his knees up.  Looks like the light was a bit different this time when I photographed him too.

I'm trying to improve my painting of faces and figures by doing a lot of paintings to work on my technique, so I decided to do a second version of my Orodreth painting.

 I like this one better than Version 1 although now I look at it again, I think his knees should be further up!  Must remember to work out position of knees more carefully.

Practice should be the way to do it (and yes, I agree about the knees - but maybe he is just wearing an old pair of trousers, and not been pulling them up when he sits down, so they have gone baggy at the knee?)

To me it seems it's more a problem of his body being too long - his legs are in proportion if the tunic he's wearing only comes to just below his hips.

I do like the decoration on the wall, though.

Hmm. Baggy pants doesn't sound very Noldorin. You'd think they'd immediately be driven to invent a non-sagging trouser.

I amended him. Now his boots are rather tall, but at least his knees are in more or less the right place.

I wanted the tunic to be longer though, it was intended to be faintly Chinese in style.

and obviously he's wearing trousers, which didn't look right. But I'm not sure that the kneeboots he ended up with are right either.

I did a revised version with the knees further up, I think it looks better.
