Not a good day.
Oct. 26th, 2006 10:09 amThis morning Java cat was not able to get up.
The vet said that her liver problem had now reached the point where it was a choice between massive and uncomfortable intervention, which probably would not work, or have her put to sleep. People say that you instinctively know when that time has come. I haven't found that in the past, but this time it was very clear.
Philmophlegm is away at the moment, and we had hoped he would be able to be here to say goodbye, but the vet felt trying to keep her alive another day would be unkind. So, goodbye, Java. We won't forget you.

This morning, Amber bunny was breathing oddly and one of her back legs was turned in. She's now in an oxygen tent at the vet. Fingers crossed for Amber bunny.

Date: 2006-10-26 03:47 pm (UTC)Amber has a respiratory infection, but is responding to treatment and should be able to come home tomorrow, the vet says, so I'm very relieved about that.
