Sheep are much more visible too, so you can take avoiding action, whereas deer can really take you by surprise. Naughty Skydog took off after some deer on Cannock Chase last week. Usually she's pretty good around deer but these ones literally exploded from the heather right under her nose and I think the temptation was too much for her. I don't know how long she was gone for, probably no longer than a minute or two max before she came back looking mighty pleased with herself. She had the tiniest spot of blood on her nose which freaked me out completely until logic returned and informed me that if she'd actually caught one, I wouldn't be looking at a *tiny* spot of blood.

Poor deer. I hope it recovers from its Az experience. Sounds very dramatic.
