Crufts aftereffects
Mar. 13th, 2007 04:27 pmI hear on the grapevine that the owner of that lovely bloodhound that made it to the final at Crufts, has been inundated with puppy sales enquiries from within a few hours of her group win.
They are apparently impulse buyers who have not even begun to think about the implications of owning a very large strong dog which drools mightily and tends to consider a new scent far more important and interesting than anything their owners have to say!
Luckily there are no puppies in the country at present. I hope the interest dies down quickly before the puppy farmers can get involved. Though sam tells me that some of them are asking 'oh, no blood hounds - do you do shar peis then?'

I've always felt that some people seem to buy dogs with all the deliberation they put into choosing a new doormat. But a bloodhound! Good grief!
