Airport without a suitably shaped tuit

I could be wrong, maybe this would happen at airports elsewhere in the UK, but this does seem a bit, well, Cornish. I suspect elsewhere they'd have tried to rush it, ballsed it up and made a chaos that had to be smoothed over with spin : here we just say 'hey, what's a couple of weeks...'
