Winter Olympics

 The trailer for the Winter Olympics coverage on TV seems to offer the hope that the normally extremely dull downhill skiing will be enlivened by pursuit by packs of wolves, and that there is a decent chance of seeing an unarmed person irritatingly clad in lycra dismembered by a giant bear. 

Finally, sport I can appreciate!

How odd. Maybe the organisers of the Winter Olympics were inspired by the ratings success that was the Top Gear Winter Olympics, and have decided to enliven the event by introducing elements from other popular TV shows - in this case, one of those extreme survival shows.

Being a bit squeamish, I think I'd prefer the Teletubbies inspired version of the Winter Olympics, though.

I wouldn't get too excited. The trailers for the last round of summer Olympics promised us gods-sent monsters to compete against the humans, and not a single one showed up.
