Ring tones

I'm not doing the whole of that 50 questions meme that is floating around, but I will tell you all that my mobile phone ring tone is set to make a noise like an old fashioned telephone bell.

This is deliberate. It gives me the illusion that my mobile phone is operated by technologies that I understand and can control. I know it's an illusion but I find it comforting...

At some point I'm going to have to reserve a week and actually investigate how to make the damn thing do the 12001 things that it is apparently able to do but I am too feeble to know how or why without becoming infuriated and woeful.

I think I may have missed the 21st century leaving the station, is the 20th century going back again, and can I get on it...?

I have mine set to ring like an old fashioned telephone too; not for any particularly luddite reasons, but simply so I can hear the damn thing when it rings! All three of them, in fact.

I think telephones should jolly well be firmly attached to the wall so the bloody things can't follow you about and bug you when you are out having fun.
