So far settling in OK, though he seems to have a little more of the collie in him than I was expecting: he looks like a big whippet, but he is definitely showing some collie traits (more active than I was expecting!). Kept me awake last night rather too long, but he is just settling in.

He has separation anxiety - well that's nothing new, at least he isn't as loud about it as Mollydog - and is apparently afraid of loud noises, small children and heavy machinery. Though we met a small child walking on Kitt Hill this morning and he licked him, so possibly is only afraid of Brummy small children (he's from Walsall).

His owners drove him down from the Midlands so they could do the homecheck themselves and say goodbye: it was very sad, as they clearly didn't want to lose him. But I can imagine that a suburban house in Walsall is not an ideal location for a nervy collie-minded whippet, specially as he had to be left all day.. They said as soon as they got here how calm he seemed in the house: I'm guessing that constant traffic noise may have been keeping him wound up. Luckily he doesn't seem to be bothered by the telly!

Henning has taken to the hedges, though the other cats are taking things in their stride. Poor Henny, he does get so upset by any sort of change. Still, he adapted OK to Mollydog: I'm sure he can cope with this too.

He looks great! Congratulations on the new addition to the household, I'm sure you will all be very happy together (even Henning, eventually).

Henning has now been won over: he was hiding sadly in the hedge behind the compost heaps, weeping to himself.

But a sachet of disgusting wet catfood has reassured him and he is much happier now.

Poor Henning, hope he's used to the not so new arrival - so much happens when you're off LJ for a week or so. He certainly looks lovely, hope you're not still being kept awake at night.

No, he has been great since the first night: he is more or less silent (more than I can say for Mollydog!). We were told he was used to being crated, but he doesn't seem to like that at all: he's much more relaxed if we just let him wander about.

Henning is now very nearly as happy with him as he is with Mollydog, and Kjetil has come for a couple of walks with the two dogs, though he is still a little cautious, and does his 'I'm a ginormous cat' impression if Azure runs up to him.

I'd love to see that, I bet it's very cute fearsome! :-)

He,he. He looks gorgeous (say both of us), so does he bark with a black country accent?

Ummmm - hard to tell with a bark! He may not be from the Black Country originally: he was found 4 years ago running along the M5 in a bit of a state, so who knows where he started off: we think perhaps he was dumped from a car.

Ai yi yi, why do some people do that? There are plenty of organisations to help people deal with pets that can't be coped with. Honestly some people are just beyond hope. Still he looks a lot happier now and at least he's had a home where he was loved beforehand even if they couldn't meet all his needs.
