Why this is here

I've come to the realisation that most of what I know of my life is scattered across the internet in usenet posts, forum messages, ODP editing notes web and email archives. This is absurd. There is no hope now that I shall be able to keep my memory inside my head where it belongs. I am hoping that this journal may serve instead.
