This morning I wormed and flea treated my dogs with Advocate drop on wormer.  It's just a smelly clear liquid.  Az just sat there.  Brythen, on the other hand felt that I was assaulting him horribly and leapt vertically in the air, hitting me hard on the chin and causing me to bite both sides of my tongue.  It really hurts!

He has also decided that he lives here now, so having been here for two months and being generally a very *very* good dog, he is pushing the boundaries a bit, and his lovely almost perfect recall has gone right out the window.  He's jumped through three hedges now and not come back for several minutes - *thankfully* not into fields with lambs.  But obviously I can't take that risk so will have to be  much more careful.  I'm hoping that lots of recall practice (with sossidges) will put things back where they were!

Oh, ouch! From experience of being headbutted by Pip, washing your mouth with warm salty water helps a bit.

I hope that practice with lovely tasty sossidge, or even chicking, does the trick on the recalls. Is Brythen very food orientated?

I will give salty water a go, thanks!

He's not food oriented in the way that Mollydog was (it was a long time before food was safe below the 6ft level...) but he does like his high-quality snacks, and on the plus side, he's not a really keen chaser, and he would generally rather have Sossidge than Delicious Poo. So I'm hoping that getting the habits right will be enough. Fingers crossed.

He is a sucker for rushing after me if I run away squealing, but that doesn't work so well if he can't see me. :-/

Seconding the salty water. It might sting a bit, but stick with it if you can.

Ouch!

I'm having recall problems with Tess at the moment. Two operations in the first 18 months of her life has left her a bit spoilt and lacking training.
