A Jubilee Pageant Painting

I decided to have a go at a Jubilee painting.  I did most of it over the weekend, but I've been filling in detail off and on since. It does look better in real life (it's 2ft square so you can't really see the detail in this photo) but here it is anyway.

Oh, the temptation to superimpose a huge grinning face over the Gloriana...

Actually that was one reason I felt the urge to paint it : when they showed us the pageant it was such a spectacle, but they kept cutting away to pointlessness.
