Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz and cake

bunnI always have great difficulty keeping awake in July. It's not all that hot at the moment, and there has been rain, so everything this morning was dewy and cool, and the valley was full of mist. And yet I would very much like to curl up and go to sleep for about a week. I had to give up on Friday and just go back to bed because I couldn't keep my eyes open.
But today, among other things, I have made a cake. I think it's a little bit rich : too many eggs and butter. It's a traditional Victoria Sponge, and I now recall that I tend to find Victoria Sponge a bit too much. But a small slice is pretty good.
