Two Drawn Things

A sparrowhawk that flew over me.  If I had had a camera to hand and pointing in the right direction it would have been a great shot, so I thought I'd try to reconstruct it in pencil.   Clickable for a big version.

I thought of you when that sparrowhawk flew in front of me and turned to peer at me so inqusitively! Normally they are much shyer, I don't know what this one was playing at.

It was not more than about 10 feet in front of me, and would have made a spectacular photo, if I had had my camera out and the right lens on and already focussed and all the rest of it!

We saw what I think were goshawk leavings last time we were at Lydney Park. We will certainly be going back next year ...

They're both lovely drawings! Brythen especially - he looks so alive and full of movement, and those striking tiger-like markings are beautiful.

Thank you! I accentuated the markings a bit to try to create a bit of a rhythm with the background.

It is nice to draw something simple for a change. B. is very simple, in all senses. :-D
