This was the raging torrent we had to cross:

And looking at this one I'm really wondering how we both ended up with wet shoes.

LoA took the 'climb onto a rock and perform a sinuous back and forward rocking motion between semi-submerged slimy stones' approach.
I tried to make a Mighty Leap, and came down with a splash.  Brythen leapt athletically and by far the most successfully of the party.

Horse riding is forbidden in the nature reserve, for some reason that seemed unclear.
 Lurcher riding, however, is unmentioned on any sign or warning.
