The beams were really clear to the eye, I don't think I quite caught them looking so brilliant with the camera, but I'm glad you can see them!

One of the nice things about temperate latitudes is the intresting variations in the light. In the tropics it's either blazing or pouring, and one has approximately ten minutes to enjoy the high-speed changes of the sunset before night falls with a crash.
