I meant to post about this before but ran out of time. Not really going to post about it now, except to rave briefly about it being absolutely brilliant and extremely funny. Anyone else see it?

If not it's on Sky again Christmas and Boxing Day I believe: highly recommended.

We saw it. Bits of it confused me, and I found it rather over-long. However, I watched the first part while about 80% asleep, and the second half while writing cards and wrapping presents, so I probably missed quite a lot of important bits. I haven't read the book. (I read 4 or 5 Discworld books in Oxford, liked them well enough, but felt no desire to read any others.)

I liked the bits with Death best.

It's not the book of his that I enjoyed most.

I agree it's not his best book, but I thought that the TV production was actually better than the book: the plot and writing had been tightened up a bit.

It is a fairly complex plot, so yes, probably not ideal to watch when half-asleep!

I've read the book but philmophlegm hasn't, and is in a similar position to you of having read some of the earlier Pratchetts but not this one: he loved it.
