This week in art class : a portrait

I deliberately thickened up her eyebrows, nose and chin a little, to illustrate this quote :

So she could be more conventionally pretty though I'm not sure about her lips, and as usual the photography has done the painting no favours..  I did this because I thought the hair might be more educational to paint than last week's hairy dog, and I do feel I learned a fair bit from painting it.

... I amended her eye and mouth to give better perspective.  You can see how hard it is to be consistent when taking photos when the light changes!

The lips look OK to me - they look like they're coming out of the painting, which is the vivid effect I think I'd want!

Good job on the hair, too. :-)
