Comic Relief is selling tickets to greyhound racing on ebay.

A world free from poverty is a noble aspiration, but two wrongs don't make a right.

Oh dear, that's not good at all. You'd think with all the negative publicity about the consequences of the racing industry in the last year they wouldn't want to be associated with it :-(

I suspect they don't know about the ins and outs of it. Maybe someone should help them ...

Oh, believe me, they have been told. Both by direct message to the ebay seller, and emails to the organisation. Now considering contacting the trustees via their agents, but I am not sure if such messages would be handed on. :-(

We are getting a 'all this will be considered after the event is over' standard message. Which is useless: by then the damage will be done: racing is given a healthy glow by association with a 'good cause' and a trip to the races becomes that much more normalised as a healthy night out, rather than the deeply dodgy business it is.

Don't know if you're doing this as a charity or as individuals or both, but If you need more people to express their negative feelings about this, give me the contact info and I'll write them too.

I don't think it's a coordinated campaign: it's not an Oldies Club protest anyway. Just a bunch of loud, annoying, opinionated folk... :-p

Comic Relief's contact details are here if you'd like to tell them why you think this is a bad idea:

http://www.comicrelief.com/all-about-us/contact-us/

The more contacts, the more likely it is they will consider the issue seriously rather than dismissing it as something of interest to only a few cranks (like me!)

Thanks, they'll definitely be getting an email from me too.

I have not bought a special Red Nose Day jam tart from the canteen all day in protest. And you know how much I like strawberry jam tarts.
