Trouser-related astonishment

I bought some Ethical Trousers on Ebay. They were supposed to be 'one size fits all' without being elasticated (which is not truly one size fits all, more 'can you squeeze through this elastic band') and I must confess that one reason I bought them was to see how this could be true.

It is true! They sort of fold round you in a vaguely Japanese manner and tie off.

Why are more trousers not made in this cunning manner?

Also they are peacock blue. I like peacock blue.

I'm intrigued by the idea of ethical trousers. More specifically, I'm intrigued by the idea of unethical trousers, and am wondering what sort of shady deals they up to when their wearers aren't looking.

I must seek these beasts out. I have a serious trouser crisis at the moment, since all but one of my lurid folk festival trousers have spouted holes in embarrassing places, and I don't do normal trousers from normal shops.

I did think they sounded like Nomads ones. I like their stuff, though they've recently changed their lines and have discontinued a lot of the stuff I liked :-(

I must get some new trousers for summer too.

I've seen these at the New Forest Show, usuall at the far end of Craft Tent A. They look very comfortable (and very LoA), though not really me!
