Rexque Futurus (one last time)

I loved this story - a really good balance of light, deft humour, MEEP!! and genuine feeling. And the idea that in the event of Britain's darkest hour, and total collapse of existing civil structure filling the void, well, Rexque futurus is sufficiently well established a concept to count as part of the unwritten constitution - yep, I'm convinced.

Could we lend Drake's Drum to the Americans, I wonder? Drake is an important chapter in American mythtory, it might just work.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! (The mulled wine of the Oxford coven may have been just the faintest of a theft from the Oxford Arthurians...) I was so pleased with myself over the concept of Rexque Futurus being part of the constitution, I may have done a smug little dance :-D

I hadn't thought of Drake's Drum as a solution to the American problems with rampaging Bunyan, buffalo, etc, but now you mention it... I did originally have an idea to expand the scope and bring in a wider range of global disasters and legendary heroes, but I realised about chapter 14 that was absolutely riddled with pitfalls, and also beyond my skill-set! Jormundgandr provided enough of a disaster to focus on.
