I can't be the only person that has noticed that the rain and fogs have neatly overlapped with the weather in Harry Potter.

Another neat overlap is from a book I've just finished reading After London: Or, Wild England, a book where the premise is that the centre-South counties of England have disappeared under a vast freshwater lake, stretching as far as the Severn in the West, and London in the East. (London is a vast fetid and poisonous swamp).

I may experiment with reading something very dry next.

How true, particularly in summer when it appears that a large number of Tube users don't wash or use deodorant :-P

Dune?

Good luck influencing the weather!

We've had a hot dry spell this week, which I understand is due to end in thunderstorms over the weekend (which I will no doubt have follow me to NY). I fully expect my significant other to pull out his standby video of 'The Empire Strikes Back' tonight, as he swears the ice planet scenes make him feel cooler. However, I don't expect it to snow in July. Though at the moment, I wish it would.
