Seeing reports of large numbers of basking sharks seen off Lands End, we thought we'd go and see if we could spot any. We went from Falmouth, which turned out to be not quite far enough West and North for the sharks - we went almost to the Lizard, but no signs of any sharks there.

However, what we did see :
Several of these (grey seals):

Absolutely loads of these (common dolphins), playing all round the boat!

Dolphins are really hard to photograph - they are so quick and by the time you press the button, they've gone under again - and the boat moving up and down doesn't help either. The rapid fire mode proved to be the best approach - you do end up with a lot of photos of sea, but also some of dolphins.

I was glad I'd had practice photographing running greyhounds - they are so *quick*. And so full of joy. I've never encountered a wild animal that wanted to interact with people just for fun before.

I took manymany dolphin pics, but that is the best one of the lot (I also took evenmoremany photos of splashing water into which a dolphin had just disappeared, but I suppose that's inevitable!).

More of Bunn's photos are on my Facebook page if anyone is interested.

They were so close that at one point I was actually splashed by one!
