I have just found Sumatra enthusiastically paddling away with his paws at the slot for the VCR. He has just worked out the door moves if you prod it.

I hope he hasn't put anything inside there. He loves to play with hairbands, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if the VCR is now full of them. Though how often do we use a VCR nowadays? 1 more mark up to CD/DVD players - they have narrower slots!

Lindy is fascinated by our VCR too. She's worked out that by pressing the buttons on the front stuff happens. You get flashy lights, whirring noises and sometimes something pops out at you. We've come down in the morning to find the tape ejected/stuff recorded/the tape playing... At least keeping a tape in it stops things being hidden in it, even if you do find random stuff recorded on it ;-)

You can get a child lock thing for VCRs. It sort of slots in. Whilst it may not be terribly effective at stopping an enterprising toddler, it may be useful for preventing access to those without opposable thumbs.
