A weasel crossed my path today

This morning as I walked the dogs, a weasel ran across the lane right in front of me.

I wonder if there is a special significance to a day where one's path is crossed by a weasel. Possibly this would be a good day for making excuses?

If you're a mouse and a weasel crosses your path you are lucky. If you are a mouse and a weasel starts to cross your path, then turns and comes towards you, now that is unlucky!
