Cookery tip of the day: when reheating soup, put the soup in the pan, then the pan on the hob.

Do NOT put the pan on the hob 'to warm up' while faddling about finding the soup and opening the packet, then get distracted by Az asking for tripe sticks and wander back with the soup some time later .  If you do that, the soup you pour into the pan vaporises instantly, leaving a cloud of carrot-flavoured steam and a thick brown burnt layer inside the saucepan...

You can still eat the remaining soup, you'll be pleased to hear, but I think the saucepan may have had it.

If you live in a hard water area it's amazing the amount of mineral deposit you get left with and the colour it can go in a very hot pan...
