I have just been informed that Mollydog's sire, Mustang Jack, is still alive and is *still acting as a stud*. He is 15 years old and has fathered 4673 registered pups... so far. (That's registered pups: only 'promising' pups would be registered, any born with 'problems' would probably be euthanased.) The last registered litter he sired was born Aug 2006.

Good grief.

Dog names get long and longer.

When my grandad started with flatcoats, they were called things like "Woodpoppy". (Kennel name, "Poppy". Prefix, "Wood").

Then they needed to have two words in the name, and he started using Woodland. So, "Woodland Whipcord." Kennel name, "Whip".

But nowadays, you get things like "Caitland Isle Take a Chance."

Although having said that, I've just checked. Every Crufts winner back to at least 1928 has had at least two names, and there was a four-name winner as early as 1938. Maybe this was where my grandad went wrong; he didn't give his dogs enough names.
