I read it and I loved it! I will leave a respectable comment at the site. Here I have been struggling for three days to write an Elros drabble for you and you dash off 2,500 words seemingly in the blink of an eye.
Hurray, and thank you! (I typo'd when I first posted this: it's Elrond, not Elros, of course).
Well, I'm not letting you off, ;-)
I do find Elros much harder to get an idea of characterisation and motivations for, hence the prompt (have to admit I'd pick the Elves every time, if I got a chance!)
Normally I write like a sloth who feels like a break and a cup of tea, but for some reason I have got the Silmarillion in my head right now and can't stop. This was just a bit I had to take out of the main thing because it didn't fit. I don't know why I'm suddenly possessed with it, it's weird. Fun, but I haven't even read my Christmas books yet because I've got this story in my head and can't type fast enough to get it out of there.
This never happens, so I don't know why it has this time.
Enjoy it while it lasts! It's a wonderful feeling. A faint memory for me at the moment. But my New Year's experiment is to see if one can write one's way out the sluggishness.
Bit of Feanorian arrogance still lurking there, I think. Obviously if Maglor son of Feanor decides to fade, then he will do it best... Oh! actually this seems to be harder than it looked. :-D
I'm inclined to think that perhaps being the only musician made a difference. He's the only one that we know has an art that he can easily pick up and carry around with him even when everything else is gone. I think that could mean the Oath ate him a bit less.
