State of the Kitties Update

It is time to use the internet for its original and true purpose : showing off photos of our cats. 
Here's Nenya sunbathing.

And here is Fankil! He's still a bit hard to photograph, but this morning I caught him playing chasing games with Nenya, which is a first. He was chasing her, not vice versa.  I think Gothmog was a bit jealous.

Here's Fankil showing that you can actually get close to him now.  He's still not one to be stroked, and I wouldn't want to have to pick him up, but he comes out when called and likes these treats, which I feel guilty about beause they come wrapped in enormous amounts of plastic for such a small amount of food. They have made a big difference to encouraging his confidence though.


And here he is queuing for a slurp of treat next to Nenya!  You can see how diddy he is here.


And I took 9999 photos of little Gothmog when she was a smaller kitten, and now she's growing up, I seem to have abandoned photographing her for the other two, because they are harder to get photos of.  So here is a token Gothmog.  She's almost as big as Fankil now. Fankil used to look big next to her, and now he looks like the rather teeny cat he actually is.

On the whole, the Project Cat Project seems to be going OK.

Knowing what I now know about Nenya's personality, I wonder if I should have called her Tevildo, even if she does have white fur! :-D

Is it still only Gothmog who adores Rosie or are the other two close to her now too?

Gothmog seems to have the happy gift of getting on with everyone! Fankil is still a bit scared of Rosie, so he tends to hiss at her, which at first she found scary in return, but she now seems to have got to the point where she can just roll her eyes at him.

They're all looking so gorgeous & I'm so pleased to hear Fankil is more confident, even if he's not ready to be stroked yet. He may come round in time, it's only taken me 12 years to get to the stage where Flossie will let me bury my face in her fur and kiss her head without her running for cover :)

Goodness, really? Well, we have two friendly cats (though Gothmog likes doing things on her terms, not ours) so we can wait. I'm really pleaded by how fast Fankil has changed, honestly: it's fascinating to see, since we haven't really had a nervous cat before. All of them are significantly more nervous than Yama of course. Or Henning for that matter!

They are all so lovely! Bus-stop cat is still nervous about being outside, but h has at least started going out with the others in the morning (into the enclosed pool courtyard). He still loses his nerve and demands to be let in about ten minutes later, unlike the other two, who are happy to lounge outside in the bushes until shooed in for lunch. BUt he's getting better. I do look forward to the housekeeper's return from leave, since she is his special human.

How long have you had Bus-stop cat now? Good to hear that he is getting a bit of outside time: I'm sure that helps them relax.

Six years, almost exactly. Lap-cat and Scaredy-cat came together in April 2013, and Bus-stop cat was rescued about a month later. He is now willing to spend a bit more time outside in the morning, rather than just sticking his now out and then retreating into the hall. Housekeeper came home today, so they will be back to the comfort of routine.

They are all Very Beautiful Cats. It's good to hear they're all getting on better, separately and together (at least I hope Gothmog and Nenya are, even if 'tiny furious loons' in a previous post made me laugh quite a lot).
