We decided to go and explore the river Lynher, down where she widens before she joins the big river Tamar, just above Plymouth.

In other news, Helga Saab got ANOTHER puncture - split tyre.  Dratted potholes.  Foolishly, I did not have my mobile phone with me, but thankfully a helpful lady leaped to my assistance and ferried me and the hounds home, and then the equally-helpful local tyre shop came out, picked me up, took me (but not the hounds) back to Helga, swapped on the space saver, and then I drove back to their garage to get a new tyre.  Must. Carry. Phone. *bangs head*

Yes, it's another tyre post. On Sunday, on my way home from Oldies Club camping (which was great fun by the way) I stopped at the White Horse of Uffington for a walk and to break the journey and realised I had a flat tyre!

It's the same one that was resealed in March, rear left. Fortunately, I had my marvelous cigarette lighter powered tyre pump, so I was able to pump it up and drive home. It seems to be staying up for the time being, but I am keeping a wary eye on it.

WHY DOES THE GOD OF TYRES HATE ME, WHY???

Also, I have just realised that I drove to Oxfordshire and back in a car without a current MOT. Oopsie. Booked in now.

Well that wasn't as bad as expected. Tavistock Tyres tested the wheel, couldn't find a leak, so resealed the tyre at a grand cost of £9.95. The invoice said 'puncture repair' which makes me think of those little rubbery patches you get for inflatable airbeds, but I have checked the tyre and I can't see any little green squares stuck on the outside ;-p so I assume they know what they are doing!

So far, the tyre is still inflated. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Mollydog is pleased that her normal chauffeur service has resumed.

My car has *another* puncture! I swear I get more punctures than any 3 other people I know put together. From now on I'm tagging puncture related posts so I can track the buggers. I may even make a gloomy chart of some sort.

So: Easter Sunday, Rear Left, slow puncture, buggered if I know where it came from.

Woe is me

My car has yet another puncture. I managed to get to a garage and pump it up enough to get home on, but you can hear hissing from that tyre now, so it's not going to have air in it in the morning. I could really do without another excursion to the Tyre Man this week, I don't have half a day to spare!

Edit : I got a new tyre online from etyres and had their mobile fitter come out to put it on. They were amazingly efficient and quite cheap. Will be using them again!
