Inktoberings

I'm going to try to keep up with Inktober, and do a drawing in ink for the official prompt every day!

Day 1: 'Poisonous' :


Ungoliant poisoning the Trees of Light for the prompt  ‘Poisonous’. 

Day 2: Tranquility

But still the sunken stars appear

In dark and windless Mirrormere;
There lies his crown in water deep,
Till Durin wakes again from sleep.

Couldn’t make my first idea for this work in the time, so here’s a super-quick and wobbly inkpainting.

I’d say your ‘Tranquility’ is a perfect illustration of the lines you’ve quoted.

I like this new technique of brushing on lots of ink and water onto thick absorbent paper and letting them mingle a bit. It makes for interesting soft colours!

Your tranquillity one immediately made me think Tolkien too :-)
