Clothes annoyance

A few weeks ago I bought 2 pairs of jeans (both the same size) and some random socks. After one wash, one pair of jeans is now large and flappy, and the other pair of jeans is skin tight. How are you supposed to know which will do what???

Also, some of the socks have turned out to be those annoying sorts of socks that are fine until you put on wellies, then they fall down and gather irritatingly about your toes. This is why I never have the nerve to do a Pellinor and buy hundreds of identical socks. With my luck I'd end up with hundreds of welly-droopers.

This is why one buys one of something first, and only on finding that it is good does one buy the other 723 :-)

Ah, but how can you be sure that the other 723 are *exactly* the same? My floppy socks were supposed to be the same as others, but clearly there is some tiny difference!

Ah, you didn't say they were meant to be the same, you said they were random :-)
